I am writing this as an outsider to this beautiful partnership. Jose and Maria met and fell in love, making all the promises of a newly married couple, for better or worse, till death do us part. Their 28 years of marriage has put their vows to the test and they came out strong.

They are two beautiful, caring and genuine souls. People refer to "Relationship Goals" and half heartedly make light of the comment, but upon meeting these two, they are now my inspiration. They speak of each other with light in their eyes and after 28 years of marriage, some would say that is rare.

They started out working together for many years, but they are now running two successful businesses, a town apart from each other. You can find Jose at La Casa Tapatia in Woodland, WA. There you will find him taking orders, cleaning tables, greeting customers or cooking, no task goes without his personal attention and its obvious from the beginning that he is passionate about what he does. Each customer that has met Jose will tell you that he makes a lasting impression.

You will find Maria at Country Cafe in Ridgefield, pouring her heart and soul in to her restaurant and her customers. Her priority aside from providing excellent service and high quality, delicious food to her customers is taking care of her employees or "family" as she refers to them. Maria is a generous and warm soul and you can't miss that when you meet her, to meet her is to love her.

Jose & Maria decided to bring their passion for Mexican cuisine to Ridgefield by creating La Cosina Real, an extension of the cafe that offers authentic and exquisite Mexican food in the evenings from 5pm-close.
